Terms of use
Mac@Xa is commercial software that runs on your machines. The points below set out what you may do with it and who is responsible for what.
1. Scope
These terms cover the Mac@Xa application (macOS and iOS builds) and the macxa.app website. Installing or using the app means you accept them; if you don't, please don't install it.
2. Licence
Mac@Xa is proprietary software. On purchase you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it, issued to the individual or organisation named on the order. Prices and the exact scope of each licence type are published when the app goes on sale. You may not resell, rent, re-publish under another name, reverse-engineer, or strip identifying marks from the official builds.
3. Pre-release builds
Builds distributed before the public release are provided for evaluation, may lack features, and may stop working when the final release ships.
4. Your responsibilities
Only control machines you own or have explicit permission to access. The 6-digit code is the key to the whole machine — keep it private and rotate it the moment you suspect it leaked. Complying with the law where you live, including surveillance and data-protection rules, is on you.
5. The connection service
The app uses a meeting point so the two machines can find each other. It forwards encrypted packets only and holds no decryption key. We aim to keep it running but do not commit to a specific availability level, and may perform maintenance or change the infrastructure as needed.
6. No warranty
The software is provided as is, without any warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation or fitness for a particular purpose. The current build carries an Apple developer signature and is not notarised yet.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from use or inability to use the software, including data loss, interrupted work or lost business.
8. Changes
These terms may be revised as the app changes. The revision date is always at the top of this page; continuing to use the app after a revision means you accept it.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms go to info@macxa.app.
